jagdpanzer iv zimmerit l/48 (v) vomag gasoline kit range conversion for solido/verem bases solido ou verem à utiliser pour ce kit / solido or verem bases to use for this kit: pz. iv (toutes versions / all versions) caracteristiques techniques conçu pour assurer le remplacement du stug iii vieillissant, la société vomag produisit un peu plus de 750 de ces chasseurs de chars en 1944. pour simplifier la conception et la production de ce véhicule, un modèle éprouvé fut retenu : le panzer iv. ainsi, la caisse, les suspensions et le train de roulement sont identiques entre les deux blindés. vomag redessina un avant en biseau avec des plaques d'acier de 80 mm d'épaisseur et une superstructure compacte. ainsi la hauteur totale de ce nouveau véhicule de combat blindé ne dépassait pas 1,85 m. l'armement principal : le 75 mm anti-char à canon long l/48 était doté de près de 80 obus, tandis que la mitrailleuse mg 42 était approvisionnée à 600 coups de 7,92 mm. l'admission au sein des unités de chasseurs de chars des divisions blindées du iiième reich intervint dès mars 1944. ce panzerjäger iv connu son baptême du feu en italie en 1944 contre les blindés américano-britanniques avec la division hermann göring ; puis sur le front est, contre les soviétiques, les 4ème et 5ème divisions blindées et enfin en normandie en juin avec entre autres la division panzerlehr. technical characteristics designed as a replacement for the aging stug iii, the vomag co. produced over 750 of these tank destroyers in 1944. in order to simplify and the design and production of this vehicle a combat proven model was retained: the panzer iv. then the hull, suspensions and drive train are identical for both afvs. vomag opted for a bevelled hull-front made of 3.15 in thick steel plates and a compact superstructure. that way the overall height of the new vehicle did not exceed 6.07 ft. the long-barrelled anti-tank l/48 75 mm gun gave the sd. kfz. 162 the required firepower to deal with most of its armoured opponents -about 80 shells were carried- and the ubiquitous mg 42 machine-gun was fed with 600 7.92 mm rounds. entering service amongst tank destroyer units of the iiird reich armoured divisions in march 1944, the panzerjäger iv first saw combat in italy in 1944 within the hermann göring division against us-british afvs., later on the eastern front with the 4th and 5th armoured divisions engaged against the soviets and in june in normandy within amongst others the panzerlehr division. jagdpanzer iv zimmerit l/48 (v) vomag gasoline kit range conversion for solido/verem
