german super heavy tank e-100 collectors models gaso.line / quarter kit e-100 german super heavy tank this tank was part of a broader revolutionary concept set up by the 3rd reich military authorities: the e series (e stands for development), which aim was to rationalize the productions and materiel. thus the same tank design would have been duplicated for 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 tons vehicles. the 8th may 1945 put an end to the entwicklung-typen experiment. without much surprise the e-100's hull looked like an enlarged tiger ii hull with a length of 8.7 m and a width of 4.48 m. the engine would have been an 800 hp 12 cylinders maybach that would have driven a pair of 1 m wide tracks. a crew of 5 to 6 was envisaged. the men would have been protected behind a 40 mm to 240 mm thick armour. the turret of the super heavy tank maus was to be fitted onto the hull. several armament combination were planed and the first one mounted a kwk44 1/55 128 mm gun and a co-axial kwk 44 l/36 75 mm gun with some of the ubiquitous 7.92 mm mg 42 machine-guns. in 1945 during the allied push in germany, the sole complete e-100 hull was to be discovered at the henschel tank factory in paderborn by american troops. german super heavy tank e-100 collectors models gaso.line / quarter kit e-100 german tank gaso.line military solido verem corgi tiger
